Interview With Reid Mihalko

Adam Gilad is an American writer, Emmy-nominated producer, dating and relationship coach and, more recently, a narrative strategist for entrepreneurs and companies. He is the founder of The Fearless Lover and the author of some of the best known dating programs for men over 35.

Adam's background is unusually broad for the dating field. He studied at Cambridge University and was a Graduate Fellow at the Stanford Humanities Center (he describes himself as a Stanford PhD/AbD). He then spent some twenty years in Hollywood as a screenwriter and executive producer, earning an Emmy nomination, and worked as a communications and creative consultant for global companies such as BMW Design, McDonald's, General Foods and Omnicom. Along the way he travelled widely and studied in Himalayan Buddhist monasteries, Jerusalem study houses and Amazonian shamanic traditions.

He married at 23, raised two sons, and found himself suddenly single in his late thirties. He threw himself into the study of attraction and relationships - workshops, books, a lot of post-divorce dating and the best teachers he could find - and noticed that online dating profiles were a window into how men and women express, and sabotage, themselves.

Under the pen name Grant Adams he wrote Deep Attraction Online for men and The Right Man Online for women, showing how to present yourself online in a language the other sex actually feels. The men's guide sold around the world and was followed by programs on approaching and connecting with women (Masters of Approach), on becoming a skilled and confident lover (Erotic Mastery), and on dating younger women. His Agelessly Irresistible series is aimed specifically at men over 35 who want to date with confidence at any age, and 6 Secrets of the Irresistible Man sums up his core ideas.

Adam is also known for his long-running monthly interview series on what it means to be a "Complete Attractor". In it he talked with many leading dating teachers and relationship experts, among them Carlos Xuma, David Wygant, Zan Perrion, Vin DiCarlo, Dr. Robert Glover, Dr. Paul Dobransky, John Alanis, Scot McKay, Reid Mihalko, Satyen Raja, Alex Allman and Christian Hudson. Over time, his teaching moved from "how to succeed in dating" to how to become the kind of man who inspires women by who he is rather than by what he does. Adam sees this as a spiritual practice: discipline, humility, curiosity and openness to the other person. He produced workshops for the writer and teacher David Deida, studied with Satyen Raja and co-founded the WarriorSage Village community, co-created the sacred sexuality project One Tantra, and co-founded Evolver Intensives, an online learning series on consciousness and culture.

With a following of tens of thousands of readers, Adam later began mentoring other coaches on how to build a coaching business, and he has appeared on coaching and dating podcasts, including a joint interview with the dating coach Adam Lyons about the business of dating coaching.

Today Adam works mainly as a writer and "narrative strategist", helping founders, executives and authors find and tell the story behind their work: books, keynotes, TED talks, pitch decks and brand messaging. Through his Legacy House project he collaborates with entrepreneurs, scientists, athletes and thought leaders to turn their experience into books.
