Wayne Perkins's Biography(Books)(Photos)

Wayne Perkins
Wayne F. Perkins began his journey as a hypnotist beginning in 1976. "I was a musician at the time performing at hotels and night clubs through the Midwest United States. When disco became popular, musicians were replaced by DJs. I needed to find a viable income quickly.

I work executives, sales teams and professionals to annihilate stress and propagate hope. I have spent over 30 years as a national speaker with a sales background, starting out as a professional stage hypnotist in 1978. I have found that although relieving stress temporarily can be achieved in a few minutes, uncovering the root causes of stress and the way we achieve our goals in light of the stress we face, takes a different approach than just doing relaxing exercises.

"Along Came Jones"

After several months of book study to become a hypnotist, I found a gentleman named Ormond McGill who was coming out of retirement to give me the trades secrets of becoming a professional stage hypnotist. He was around sixty years old at the time. Ormond is now over 93 years old and he is still amazing audiences with hypnosis, worldwide.

What about hypnotherapy?

My very first stage hypnotism show was at Plano High School, in Plano, Illinois. This was in 1977. My first college show was at Wabaunsee Community College a few months later. I did not even think about learning hypnotherapy, (hypnosis to help people achieve their goals) until my college audiences began asking me questions after college and university shows. Many students asked, "how can I lose weight with hypnosis," or "how can I stop smoking?" Other questions like, "can I find out if I have ever lived before, or how can I overcome my fear of death?" were very common.

Hypnosis and Hypnotherapy were not my specialties at the time. However, my interest peaked.

So I began my journey learning everything I could about hypnosis and hypnotherapy. Since I did not know any practicing hypnotherapists, I had to learn by reading books and trying hundreds of theories out on other people. It took me several years before I offered hypnotherapy. Even though hypnosis represents life long learning for people studying the craft, you can help people the very first day you begin.

This course is designed for people who want to help themselves and help others. You will learn everything you need to help people lose weight, overcome fears and phobias, and program minds for success. As you help others achieve success, you will achieve success as well.

I went to school at the Hypnotism Institute of Chicago. Dr. Ed Baron was the instructor and I learned a great deal about presenting suggestions with him. He died a few years later. The school was about 6 weeks long. Later I was Certified by the American Board of Hypnotherapy out of California and the Arizona Society for Professional Hypnosis. Hypnosis certification is not necessary and in no way demonstrates whether you are an effective hypnotist. The best endorsements you can have are from your clients (the case of hypnotherapy) and your audiences. (in the case of professional stage hypnosis)

I published several books. How to Hypnotize Yourself Without Losing Your Mind: A Self-hypnosis Training Program for Students and Educators, is my first. It was published in 1999 by Trafford Publishing and also Author House. It is used by hypnotist educators in over 70 countries! I self-published two other hypnosis books, How to Hypnotize People and Other Living Things, and How to Hypnotize Your Lover to Awaken A Sleepy Relationship. These titles and other digital download programs are available for public and school libraries around the world.

In June, 2000 I wrote the New York Times Best Seller, A Cheap and Easy Guide to Self-publishing E-books. Writing a best seller took me away from the hypnosis field I love for a couple of years. Since that time I have created the Master Hypnotist Training Course.
